LAKHIMPUR: Indrani Baruah Chetia, a noted writer of the Assamese language of contemporary time, who hails from Lakhimpur district, received the award which she bagged in the State level ‘Book Manuscript Contest-2023’ organized by the Ankuran Prakashan of Guwahati in association with e-magazine ‘Angan’. In the contest, the manuscript of ‘Atmar Spandan’, an anthology of articles by the writer grabbed the second prize.
To present the awards of the contest, Ankuran Prakashan held a ceremonial programme in Nilamoni Phukan Auditorium of Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra on Wednesday. The programme commenced with prominent writer and translator Pulin Choudhury in the chair. The event was attended by a galaxy of literary figures of the State, including Jayanta Madhav Borah, Reeta Baruah, Minakshi Baruah, Bandana Parashar etc. In the same event, the award winning book ‘Atmar Spandan’, published by the Ankuran Prakashan, was ceremonially released by writer-cum-artiste Kishori Mohan Pathak. The book managed to garner wide popularity among the book lovers in Sivsagar Book Fair held recently.
