Yogananda Sangeet Mahavidyalaya organized Basanta Utsav in Tangla

TANGLA: In a bid to welcome spring, the Basanta Utsav was organized with much fanfare by the Yogananda Sangeet Mahavidyalaya at Tangla Model High School recently.

The teachers along with nearly 70 students of the institute greeted each other with abir on the occasion. "Basant Utsav literally means the celebration of spring. The beautiful tradition of celebrating spring festival in Bengal was first started by Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore at Vishwabharati Shantiniketan, the University founded by him," said Priyanka Ghosh, one of the dance instructors of the institute. Students from all age groups ranging from 3-20 years also enthralled the gathering by performing on various dance forms on the occasion.
