Youth allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon in Demow

DEMOW: Sensation prevailed in Demow on Thursday morning when a youth was badly attacked with a sharp weapon by a roadside tea vendor due to which the youth was seriously injured.

According to sources, Ranjan Naohalia is a roadside tea vendor in front of Demow Higher Secondary School. On Thursday morning, Sahidul Islam, an inhabitant of Sivasagar Demowmukh Bagal, was having tea in another roadside tea shop near Ranjan Naohalia's shop, for which Sahidul Islam was allegedly attacked with a sharp weapon by Ranjan.

Sahidul was seriously injured and after that a chaotic situation took place at the spot. According to sources, Sahidul sustained injuries in his chest, hand and in various parts of his body. The local people took him to Demow Model Hospital from where he was referred to Dibrugarh for better treatment. After the incident, Ranjan fled from the spot. Meanwhile, the family members of the injured have lodged an FIR in Demow Police Station regarding the incident.
