Youth Held with Pistol by Darrang Police and 14 Garhwal Rifles at NH 15

MANGALDAI: Acting promptly on a tip-off regarding movement of illegal weapon, in a joint operation conducted by Darrang Police and 14 Garhwal Rifles since Friday morning at NH 15 in front of Sipajhar Police Station at about12.15 pm, one Sahidul Hoque, son of Sahjahan Ali of village Jarpara Mergunda under Chaygaon Police Station in Kamrup district, was apprehended from a passenger bus and a pistol of 7.62mm calibre along with 15 rounds of live ammunition was recovered from his possession. The arrested accused is suspected to be involved with militant activities and was supplying arms in different places of the State.
