The Indian Meteorological Department said that the depression over central Bangladesh has now moved towards the north-northeastwards. This has further weakened into a well-marked low-pressure area, which is likely to cause light to moderate rainfalls at many places, along with isolated heavy rainfalls across South Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram and Tripura.
The special bulletin issued by IMD on Saturday said, "The Depression over central Bangladesh & neighbourhood moved north-northeastwards, weakened into a well marked low pressure area and lay centred over the same region at 0530 hrs IST of today the 24th October 2020."
