Silchar: With just 2 days to go for the counting of votes, Dr Rajdeep Roy, BJP candidate for Silchar Lok Sabha, is beaming with confidence. He is sure of a landslide or spectacular victory. In an exclusive interview with this reporter on Monday, Dr Roy said, “I am upbeat, optimistic, confident, in high spirits and probably in the best frame of mind. Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, our country has undergone a sea change. Progress and development of the whole country have been the Prime Minister’s main motto. The way he has regulated the government machinery is exemplary and highly commendable.”

“His clean, determined and pro-active way of governance has made Narendra Modi one in a million. People of Silchar along with the whole country has faith in him. His target of reaching out to the beneficiaries directly through various schemes, plans and programmes have made him the country’s one of the most beloved Prime Ministers. It is for the first time in the history of Indian democracy that anything meant for the poorest of the poor has reached and benefited the poorest of the poor. The Prime Minister’s sheer willpower and strong determination have made him one of the most sought after leaders in the world,” added Dr Rajdeep Roy.

A former prime minister of India went on record to say that of every rupee which was spent by the government, only 15 paise reached the intended or envisioned beneficiary. “Narendra Modi has debunked it. He made sure that all intended beneficiaries should get what they need or deserve,” said Dr Roy. It is worth mentioning here that Dr Rajdeep Roy is the son of the legendary Bimolangshu Roy, former MLA, who served in the Assam State Legislative Assembly representing the Silchar Vidhan Sabha constituency from 1996 to 2006. “I entered politics long after my father had died and I miss his presence very badly. But, it is the party and the party’s Karyakartas who keep reminding me of him,” said Dr Roy. Dr Roy said, “I would like to send a message to the people of Silchar to keep a vigil on the ways the party works. They should come forward and report issues and complaints if any. They have always been cooperative with the party. I will definitely need their blessings, guidance, aid and assistance, advises and suggestions.
