Silchar: Two memoranda of understanding (MoUs) were signed between the Deputy Commissioner of Cachar, Laya Madduri, and Asset Manager of ONGC, A J Das, at the chamber of the DC on Wednesday. One related to the solid and liquid resource management (SLRM) project of the district administration for maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, general quality of life and also for employment generation to help the needy and specially- abled persons.
SLRM is the key component of swachh Bharat mission adopted by the district administration of Cachar for its dedicated holistic approach to make Silchar town “Swachh O Sundor.” ONGC has provided 25 tri cycles costing Rs 8.37 lakh. Besides, another amount of Rs 9.34 lakh has been extended for training and capacity building in order to give push and fillip to all out drive of the administration to make this town really neat and clean and a better place to live in. ONGC called the twin MoUs as their tributes to the residents of Silchar. At this signing ceremony were also present other ONGC officials and district administrative officials, DDC Jesica Lalsim and Assistant Planning Officer Ruli Doulagapu.
