Training for Lineman under RPL-PMKVY Programme in Hailakandi

Hailakandi: 45 beneficiaries underwent training for lineman under RPL-PMKVY programme in Hailakandi. Altogether 480 hours of training duration from October 18 to 23 was conducted at the Valeur Skill Training Centre at Ramnath HS School campus at Panchgram. Of the 40 candidates, 20 belonged to the minority communities, 20 SC, two OBC and two persons were with disabilities.

District Project Manager, Assam Skill Development Mission Pinak Choudhury informed that the training programme was conducted successfully and examination was conducted on Thursday. SSC certificate will be awarded to the passed candidates. The certificate will be issued by the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship(MSDE) under the Power Sector Skill Council, Government of India. The objective of the skill certification scheme is to enable a large number of youth to take up industry-relevant skill training which will help them in securing a better livelihood. Under RPL-PMKVY, beneficiaries are pre-screened, counselled with an orientation programme and assessed in accordance with the National Skills Qualification Framework. “Candidates were taken to Badarpurghat ASEB power substation for practical skill knowledge,” said Choudhury. Valeur Fabtex Private Limited is the official training provider for this flagship scheme of MSDE.
