1st Open North-East Taekwondo Meet begins at Guwahati City

GUWAHATI: 1st Open North-East Taekwondo (boys & girls) Champion of Champions got under way at the DTRP Indoor stadium here today. The competition was inaugurated by the Director of the Sports and Youth Welfare Nibedan Das Patowary in presence of Kiarash Bahri, World Taekwondo Coordinator for India. Around 130 players from various states are taking part in the championship. Gold and silver medal winners from this meet will qualify for the final round which will be held at Nasik and the Indian team for the world Taekwondo championship will be selected from that competition.
