With this win Meghalaya now top of the points table in group ‘C’ with six points. Assam and Gujarat collected 3 points each but Assam are in second spot with better goal difference.

GUWAHATI: Assam lost to Meghalaya 1-3 in the Sub Junior National Girls Football Tournament held at Amritsar today. A goal from Muskan Darjee in the 4th minute helped Assam to take 1-0 lead in the very early part of the game. Meghalaya had to wait for a long period to score the equalizer and finally it came in the added time of the first half through Larihun Songthiang. Bonifilia Shullai gave lead to Meghalaya in the 57th minute and Larihun hammered the last nail in the coffin 20 minutes before the final whistle.

With this win Meghalaya now top of the points table in group ‘C’ with six points. Assam and Gujarat collected 3 points each but Assam are in second spot with better goal difference. In their final league game Assam will face Gujarat on September 7.
