GUWAHATI: The 3rd edition of FitExpo, the biggest sports and fitness festival in Eastern India, will be held in Kolkata with the three-day programme from December 6. Apart from various functions, that will be the part of this Expo, the organizer will also give 15 Sports Excellent Awards to the promising female sports persons along with two Life Time Achievements awards.

This year former captain of Indian women football team Kuntala Ghosh Dastidar and Dronacharya Syed Nayeemuddin would be presented the Lifetime Achievements Awards for their contribution in the field of sports.

On the other hand 48 players, including boxer Jamuna Boro from Assam, are nominated for the Sports Excellent Awards and the name of the award winners will be announced shortly.

A new award — the Heritage Club Award-would also be introduced from this edition of expo. First year Mohun Bagan, East Bengal and Mohammedan Sporting Club will receive the honour.

The FitExpo will provide a tremendous opportunity to all the stakeholders in India to claim their rightful place on the National Sports scenario including fitness and sports business development. The organizer will also provide free spaces to all the State Olympic Associations of the region so that they get opportunity to display their achievement and future plans.
