GUWAHATI: Assam Cricket Association condoled the death of veteran sports organizer Sahajananda Ojha who passed away at Nagaon on Monday after prolonged illness.

Ojah’s journey with the ACA began in 1969, and he played pivotal roles in its growth over the years. He served as the secretary of the ACA from 1979 to 1986, contributing significantly to the development of cricket in the region. Ojah also served as the Assistant Manager of the Indian cricket team during its tour to Pakistan in 1982-83.

In a release Assam Cricket Association said that his passing is a profound loss to the sports community in Assam, and his memory will be cherished for years to come. The Assam Cricket Association, along with the entire cricketing fraternity, extends its deepest condolences to his family and friends.

Sahajananda Ojah’s legacy will forever be etched in the annals of Assam cricket, and his memory will continue to inspire those who knew him.
