GUWAHATI: A team of Assam Cricket Association led by its president Romen Dutta today met Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma and felicitated him for assuming the much coveted position of the Chief Minister of the State. During the visit, Assam Cricket Association also contributed a cheque amounting to Rs 10 Lakh to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund to express its solidarity with the Government of Assam in its uphill fight against the deadly COVID-19.
Himanta Biswa Sarma, who has had a long and fruitful association with Assam Cricket Association in the past, assured the delegates of the Assam Cricket Association of all possible help and support to further develop the game of Cricket in Assam. He simultaneously assured that Bimal Bora, Minister, Sports and Youth Welfare, will soon visit the ACA Stadium at Barsapara in the city for inspection and discussion on various issues relating to infrastructure development of cricket across the State. The other members of the ACA who accompanied Dutta were Devajit Saikia, Secretary, Porikshit Dutta, Vice-President, Tridib Konwar, Treasurer and Kamakhya Saikia, Joint Secretary.
