GUWAHATI7: A goal in the added time helped Chandigarh to snatch three points from Assam in the Junior National Football Championship at Jabalpur to-day. Assam lost the tie 0-1. The match was well contested and Assam created multiple opportunities during the 90 minutes to break the deadlock but wasn’t able to convert a single one into goal.

Chandigarh scored the winning goal in the first minute of the added time through Priyoka Thounaojam.

It was the second game for Assam in the competition and they have earned 3 points from their two outings in group ‘B’ and are placed in the second spot in the points table. Chandigarh are on top with six points from two matches. The other teams in the group are: Telengana, Lakshadweep and Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu.
