Assam Wins by a Single Run in VM Trophy Cricket Tournament at Surat

GUWAHATI: Assam defeated Maharashtra by a single run in a well-contested tie of the VM trophy Cricket Tournament held at Surat today. Rode on Saurav Saha’s solid knock of 82 runs Assam, elected to bat, scored 249-7 in 49 overs. Hrishikesh Bora (45no) and Amlanjyoti Das (31) were the other major scorers. Later Assam bowled out Maharashtra 248 in exactly 49 overs. After bat, Hrishikesh Bora also bowled well in the match and picked up 4-49. It was the third game that Assam played in the competition this season and registered the first victory.
