Bordoloi Trophy: 69th Bordoloi Trophy Football Championship Today Nehru Stadium

GUWAHATI: The final of the 69th Bordoloi Trophy Football Championship will be held at the Nehru Stadium here on Tuesday. Former champion Oil India Limited Football Club (OILFC) will face last year semi-finalist United Chirangduar FC and the match will kick off at 3pm.

It will be the eight occasions when OILFC will play in the final of the prestigious tournament. The side already bagged the title on four occasions-1990, 2008, 2012 and 2019. The Duliajan outfit finished runners up in 1979, 2003 and 2018. On the other hand United Chirangduar FC will make their maiden appearance in the final on Tuesday.

OILFC, started campaign in group ‘A’ this edition, entered into the semi-final after finishing runners up in the group and later they defeated BSSSC, Kolkata in the semi final to book their berth in the final. United Chirangduar FC, were in group ‘B’, played their group matches at Mangaldoi and qualified for the semi final as the second best team. In the semi final the side upset ASEBSC.

Union Minister of State for Petroleum and Natural Gas Rameswar Teli will grace the closing ceremony as the chief guest.
