Countdown of International Yoga Day begins in Guwahati city

GUWAHATI: City is gearing up to host the International Yoga Day which is celebrated every year on June 21. As a part of 50-day International Yoga Day countdown a special Yoga session was held in the city on Monday at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phukan indoor Stadium. The event was jointly organized by the Directorate of the Sports and Youth Welfare, Care Luit and Querencia. The secretary of the Querencia Dr Kabita Majumdar said that nearly 300 people, several of them from the sports fraternity, participated in this yoga session which was inaugurated by Avinash Joshi, the principal secretary of the Health and Family Welfare department.
