Dr. Tapan Dutta enriches ASJA Sports Library with a treasure trove of sports literature

GUWAHATI: Veteran sports personality and sports writer Dr Tapan Dutta on Saturday ceremonially handed over thousands of sports literature from his collection to the Assam Sports Journalists Association to be preserved in the ASJA Sports Library-cum-Information Centre for use by the sports writers as well as researchers in the future.

Handing over the treasure of knowledge, Dr Dutta said, "I was approached by several institutions for the collections to be preserved. However, I was impressed by the way the Assam Sports Journalists Association has taken the initiative to preserve historic sports literature in its library. Besides, no other institution can be as assessable as the ASJA Sports Library-cum-Information Centre for the Sportspersons, Organizers and researchers to utilize the resource and database. I am sure the ASJA will maintain the storehouse of knowledge with utmost care."
