FC Green Valley to face Navajyoti club in final of NN Bhattacharya Knockout Football Tournament

GUWAHATI: FC Green Valley stormed into the final of the 13th NN Bhattacharya Knockout Football Tournament beating ASEBSC 7-6 via sudden death at the Nehru Stadium here today. The scheduled time of the game ended 2-2 draw.

The winner will now face Navajyoti club in the final which is scheduled to be held at the same venue on August 16.

ASEBSC should blame themselves for their defeat in the semi final. The side took the lead twice in the game but failed to hold it. At the same time they also wasted a couple of easy scoring opportunities.

Utpal Roy gave the lead to ASEBSC in the 23rd minute with a fine header. Green Valley leveled through Victor Sadap in the 36th minute and the goal was identical one of the first goal. Both the sides went to the lemon break with 1-1 draw.

Ashish Langthasa put ASEBSC into the lead again in the 54th minute and when it looked like ASEBSC were almost booked their berth in the final, Green Valley returned the goal. Match was in the added time when Ringham scored for Green Valley (90+4') and the match ended with a 2-2 draw. The tie break also failed to break the deadlock which ended 4-4.
