Former first class cricketer Ashok Medhi no more, he was 70 years old

A former stylish right handed middle order batter of his era, Medhi represented Assam in 10 Ranji Trophy matches from the 1968-69 season. He also represented Assam in the Cooch Behar Trophy and turned out for Gauhati University and Assam School Team.
Former first class cricketer Ashok Medhi no more, he was 70 years old

GUWAHATI: Former first class cricketer Ashok Medhi died at his residence in Guwahati on Tuesday after prolonged illness. He was 70 years old and left behind a son and a daughter.

A former stylish right handed middle order batter of his era, Medhi represented Assam in 10 Ranji Trophy matches from the 1968-69 season. He also represented Assam in the Cooch Behar Trophy and turned out for Gauhati University and Assam School Team. Medhi was also a member of the Senior Selection Committee of Assam Cricket Association. Assam Cricket Association, Guwahati Sports Association and Veteran Cricket Association of Assam condoled the death of Medhi.
