GSA A Division Football League: Gauhati Town Club (GTC) end first leg with win at Nehru Stadium

GUWAHATI: Gauhati Town Club (GTC) ended their first leg campaign with a win against FC Green Valley in the GSA A Division Football League at the Nehru Stadium here today. Sabir of GTC scored the only goal of the match in the 69th minute.

With this match the first leg of the league came to an end. Sunrise AC, Maharana AC, Gauhati Town Club and Dynamo Club qualified for the championship round. Sunrise topped the points table after first leg with 16 points from 7 matches. Maharana are in the second spot with 15 points. Gauhati Town Club and Dynamo Club, both collected 13 points each, but GTC finished third due to better goal difference.

On the other hand, four teams who will play in the relegation round are FC Green Valey, Frontier Club, Narengi Sporting Club and Navajyoti Club.

The relegation round will start on November 30 with two matches: Frontier Club vs FC Green Valley and Sporting Club vs Navajyoti Club. The first two matches in the championship round are scheduled to be held on December 1 where Dynamo will face Maharana and Gauhati Town Club will take on Sunrise Club.
