GUWAHATI: Guwahati and Jorhat came out flying colours in the Assam State Karate Championship which concluded at the Ganesh Mandir Indoor Stadium in the city today. While Jorhat emerged champion in the junior and cadet categories Guwahati finished as the best team in the senior category.

The closing function was attended by Nibedan Das Patowary, Director, Sports and Youth Welfare and Deputy Director Surya Sarma, Pranjit Bhagawati, Deputy Director of Sports Authority of India's NE regional Centre (Guwahati), Vice President of the Assam State Karate Association and Assam Fisheries Development Corporation Limited's Chairman Gurujyoti Das. Around 1200 participants from 35 districts participated in the two-day meet.
