GUWAHATI: The India Club Open Tennis Championship 2023 will be held from January 23 to 29 at India Club with a sum of Rs 1,00,000 as scholarship amount for the participants. Various events from U-10 years Boys/Girls mixed singles to Senior above 65 years will be held.
The Organizing Committee includes Pallav Gopal Jha, IAS, DC Kamrup (M) as Chief Patron, Diganta Thakur as Tournament Director, Arnab Kumar Sarma as Organizing Secretary, Gaurav Chowdhury as Chief Referee, Members-Kaushik Talukdar, Tirtharaj Sarma, Navroz Munwar. The event is being supported by Corporate like Dalmia Cement (Bharat) Ltd, Atlanta Modular Ltd, Tata Copper Water, Audi Guwahati, Pudding Tales, Elite Motors, Verma Sports,Tennis Hub.in etc.
Around 300 players are expected to participate in the event. The Opening Ceremony will be inaugurated by MP Queen Oja along with Guest of Honour Devajit Saikia, Advocate General, Assam.
The closing ceremony is going to be held on January 29 with Siddhartha Bhattacharyya, MLA East Guwahati, as the Chief Guest. This is stated in a release.
