MANGALDAI: Bhergaon District Archery Association (BDAA) in Udalguri district which have already shaped and moulded many archers of international repute organized the 12th Inter Unit Archery Prize Money competition with a day long program on September 17 at Khairabari Stadium. A total of 200 archers in different age group took part in the competition. Participants from four units of BDAA namely Khairabari, Bhergaon, Dimakuchi and Khagrabari displayed their skill and talent despite scorching sun and a heavy down pour. In the under 19 (Boys), Gokul Boro, Bipul Boro and Paban Basumatary while in the under 19 (Girls) Manomati Boro, Rwirup Boro and Mitali Biswas bagged the first three positions respectively. In the under 14 (Boys) Nijwmsha Basumatary, Mukut Boro and Gautam Boro while in under 14 (Girls) Jarimin Boro, Khoshi Boro and Hainari Boro claimed the top positions.
Superintendent of Police of Darrang cum President of Assam Volleyball Association (AVA) Er Sushanta Biswa Sarma took part in the inaugural function as the chief guest and appreciated the initiative of BDAA for continuing the archery practice and competition which produced archers of international repute namely Pramila Daimary, Himani Boro and Sanjay Boro who established their skill and talent in Archery in several international championship. He also assured to extend all support and cooperation to BDAA and the young archers. International ranking Archer Himani Boro earlier accorded a hearty welcome to Er Sarma in presence of former Executive Member of BTC Lwmshrw Daimary, coach LP Singh and media person Bhargab Kumar Das.
