ITF Juniors Tennis Tournament begins at the All Assam Tennis Association complex in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: ITF Juniors Tennis Tournament for boys and girls under 18 years got under way at the All Assam Tennis Association complex in Guwahati today. All the seeds moved to the second round of the tournament by defeating their respective opponents.

Among the local players Antariksh Tamuly of Assam lost his first-round match to Luc Wieland of Sweden in straight sets 6-1, 6-2. In the girls singles first round Tania Kumari of Assam defeated Bishnupriya Borgohain, also from Assam, in straight sets 6-0, 6-1 and entered into the second round. The doubles match of the tournament will start from Tuesday along with the remaining first round singles matches.
