GUWAHATI: Lawn Bowling Association Assam on Thursday felicitated its medal winners in the 37th National Games that concluded in Goa recently. Assam altogether collected six medals in the games which included 5 gold and one silver. Addressing the gathering the president of the Lawn Bowling Association Assam Durgadas Boro said, “We have taken a series of steps to promote the games in the State. Before the National Games we hired a foreign coach to train our players. In the next phase we want to give exposure to our new players and have planned to host international competition in Guwahati. We are also trying to construct a second Lawn Bowls court in the city.
It may be mentioned here that a 12-member team from Assam took part in the National Games. All the players and officials, who were part of the National Games team, were felicitated in today’s function which was also attended by the secretary of the Lawn Bowling Association Assam Naba Basumatary.
