GUWAHATI: Silchar are in the driver's seat against Tezpur on Day I of the semifinal of the Nuruddin Inter District Cricket at the ACA Stadium, Barsapara here today. In reply to Tezpur's first innings total 163, Silchar were 84-2 at stumps.

In the othersemi final Dibrugarh made a good comeback after they bowled out Biswanath Chariali in their first innings 140. Dibrugarh, once 41-6, were 104-6 when the day's play came to an end.

At ACA Stadium, Silchar won the toss and opted to field first. Tezpur struggled from the very early part of their innings and lost wickets on regular interval. Finally the entire team bowled out 163 in the first innings. Silchar played 27 overs during the remaining part of day's play and scored 84-2. Subham Mondal (55, 4X6) remained not out and he was giving accompany by Amit Yadav (24no).

At Nehru Stadium, Biswanath Chariali today won the toss and decided to bat first. However their entire innings folded on 140. While Siddhartha Sankar Barua (41) was the top scorer, Nishan Singhania and Nanak Singh bagged three wickets each.

However chasing a small first innings total Dibrugarh were struggling at the initial stage as they were quickly reduced to 41-6 in 12.3 overs. However good partnership between Ishan Ahmed (59 no, 4X4, 6X2) and Nishant Singhania (22) brought Dibrugarh on track. The unbeaten 7th wicket partnership already produced 63 runs.
