Open Tennis Championship concludes at Jorhat

GUWAHATI: Antariksh Tamuly of Golaghat and Tutu Thapa of Guwahati clinched double crown in the Jorhat Open Tennis Championship which was concluded at Jorhat yesterday. Antariksh won singles titles in the U-12 and U-14 categories. In the boys U-12 category he defeated Ved Aditya Kalita of Guwahati 6-4, 6-0 while in the U-14 section Antariksh won against Bhasata Palash Bora of NRL 6-3, 6-1.

The results of other finals: Boys U-18 singles: Promit Bordoloi (Jrt) beat Shahir Farhaz (Jrt) 6-1, 6-3.girls U-14 Singles: Taniya Kumari (Ghy) beat Tanishqa Patar (Ghy) 6-2,6-2. Girls U-18 Singles: Tanishqa Patar (Ghy) beat Taniya Kumari (Ghy) 5-7, 6-4, 7-5. Boys U-14 doubles: Jishnu Pratim Das (Glt) & Bhasata Palash Bora (NRL) bt. Pritam Baruah (Ghy) & Antariksh Tamuly (Glt) 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-5 Men’s singles: Tutu Thapa (Ghy) beat Harjeet Singh (Ghy) 6-4, 7-6.Men’s Doubles: Tutu Thapa (Ghy) and Sudhanta Mohanty (Ghy) bt. Rupam Gogoi (Siv) and Harjeet Singh (Ghy) 6-2, 6-3.
