GUWAHATI: The Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Naba Kumar Doley, has been selected as the new president of the Assam Football Association during its Annual General Meeting which was held at the Deshbhakta Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor stadium here today. Outgoing president Hemendra Nath Brahma will be the new secretary.
All the posts in the newly constituted executive committee were filled today without any election. The meeting also took resolution for nominating Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal as the Chief Patron along with former footballer Gilbertson Sangma,Tosen Bora, Debashish Roy, Nani Dutta and Dhaneswar Gayari as patron of the organization.
Meanwhile two more posts (one joint secretary and one assistant secretary) along with five more GB members would be included in the committee after doing necessary amendment in the existing constitution.
The newly elected committee: President: Naba Kumar Doley. Secretary: Hemendra Nath Brahma. Joint Secretary: Plaban Baruah. Treasurer: Hiren Gogoi. Vice President: Arun Jyoti Moran, Santanu Pujari, Kamal Dutta, Babul Hore, Ashok Sarma, Rajen Borthakur, Bolo Ram Brahma. Nominated Vice President: Ramesh Phukan, Lakhi Ram Boro; Assistant Secretary: Ajay Bharali, Pranil Daimary; GB Members: Atul Bora, Manik Gogoi, Dushmanta Bora, Pankaj Teron, Ramen Nath, Debasish Bose, Biren Medhi, Biswanath Saha, Mrinal Kanti Das.
