Paresh Das files nomination for president post in Guwahati Sports Association election

GUWAHATI: Several contestants, including for the post of president, submitted nomination papers today for the forthcoming election of Guwahati Sports Association. The new office-bearers of the association will be elected on May 6 during its Annual General Meeting.Veteran sports organizer Paresh Chandra Das is the only candidate who submitted nomination papers for the post of President today. The last date of submission of nomination papers is Monday and if there is no second candidate for the post Das will be elected uncontested. Several other candidates also submitted their nomination papers for the post of Vice President, Treasurer, Assistant Secretary, Hockey Secretary, Badminton Secretary, Volleyball Secretary, Cricket Secretary and Table Tennis Secretary on Sunday. More nominations for the post of the secretary and a few other posts are to be submitted tomorrow.
