Parthiv, Chandogya bag double crown in the OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament

GUWAHATI: Parthiv Kalita and Chandogya T Pathak of Assam lifted the double crown in the OIL-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament for boys and girls under 12 and 14 years which concluded at the AATA complex here today. Parthiv won the boys under 14 singles and doubles titles while Chandogya clinched the under 12 singles and under 14 doubles titles. Assam Girl Nabiha Moriyam finished runners up in the U-14 singles after she lost the final to Riya Roy of West Bengal. Nabiha, however partnering with Soni Prajapati lifted the girls U-14 doubles crown. Two more Assam girls Arisha M Choudhury and Sanskriti S Borah also won the girls U-12 doubles title.

In the award ceremony General Manager of OIL India Limited Ramanuj Dutta, AATA President Raktim Saikia and AATA General Secretary Ankush Dutta distributed the trophies and certificates.

Results (FINAL): Girls singles U-12: Srushti Suryavanshi (MH) beat Sarena Gahlot (HR) 6-4, 6-2. Boys singles U-12 final: Chandogya T Pathak (AS) beat Nibras Hussain (AS) 6-2, 6-2. Girls singles U-14 final: Riya Roy (WB) Beat Nabiha Moriyam (AS) 4-6, 6-0, 6-0. Boys singles U-14 final: Parthiv Kalita (AS) beat Chandogya T Pathak (AS) 6-2, 6-4. Boys doubles U-12: Vir Chattur (MH) / Ronnie Vijay Kumar (TN) beat Ayyan Rehman (AS) / Enrich Patar (AS) 6-2, 6-1. Girls doubles U-12: Sanskriti Bora (AS) / Arisha Choudhury (AS) beat Aaradhana Tehlan (HR) / Parinitha Vattaprambil (AP) 7-5, 6-2. Boys doubles U-14: Chandogya T Pathak (AS) / Parthiv Kalita (AS) beat Jay Giakwad (MH) / Aaditya Sinha (ML) 6-0, 6-0. Girls doubes U-14: Nabiha Moriyam (AS) / Soni Prajapati (UP) beat Srushti Suryavanshi (MH) / Sarena Gahlot (HR) 3-6, 6-4, 10-8.
