Pulin Das memorial lecture delivered at India Club premises in Guwahati

GUWAHATI: The 104th birth anniversary of Kriramohiruh Pulin Das was celebrated on the India Club premises in the city today. The event was organized by the Pulin Das Memorial Committee (PDMC).

As a part of the birth anniversary celebration, the Pulin Das memorial lecture was also delivered at the same venue by the chief guest and Assam's State Information Commissioner Samudra Gupta Kashyap on "100 Years of Sports Journalism in Assam".

Kashyap, a renowned journalist, recalled his association with Pulin Das through some beautifully narrated stories and highlighted the contributions of Das to the field of sports and sports journalism in Assam.

In his lecture, Kashyap also narrated the journey of sports journalism in Assam in the last 100 years. The veteran journalist felt that sports journalism is a specialized job and special qualities are needed for it.

President of Assam Sports Journalists' Association (ASJA) Subodh Malla Barua was present as the guest of honour on the occasion. He spoke about his association with Pulin Das.

Barua, who had the opportunity to work with Pulin Das on a few occasions, recalled him as someone who disliked a negative attitude.
