Radha Govinda Baruah Smriti Sangha (RGBSS) to felicitate players, organizers at RG Baruah Sports Complex

GUWAHATI: Radha Govinda Baruah Smriti Sangha (RGBSS) will observe death anniversary of legendary sports organizer Radha Govinda Barua on July 15. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Bimal Borah will attend the function as a chief guest and it would be held at the RG Baruah Sports Complex.

Addressing the media here today the president Jahirul Haq and secretary Amal Narayan Patowary of Radha Govinda Baruah Smriti Sangha said that the event would be organized to introduce the new generation with the contribution of Radha Gobinda Baruah in sports and other areas of the society.

The sports doyen was the architect of the Nehru Stadium in Guwahati and also contributed equally in the development of the society.

It was announced in the meeting that altogether 15 sports persons and sports organizers will be felicitated in the same function. The list of the players and sports organizers too released today and it included the name of Lovlina Borgohain, Shiva Thapa, Ashmita Chaliha, Abdul Matin, Devajit Saikia, Murali Choudhury, Ramen Das, Motilal Nunisa, Prafulla Talukdar, Dharmeswer Konwar, Ganesh Tamuly, Jatin Sarma, Manoj Choudhury, Arunjyoti Moran and Dipak Handique.
