Rhino Warriors Wins Exhibition Soccer Tie

GUWAHATI: Rhino Warriors defeated Brahmaputra Braves in an exhibition soccer match held at the Nehru Stadium here today. The fate of the game was decided via sudden death and Rhino Warriors won the tie by 8-7.

It was the first occasion after the COVID break when football match returned into the Nehru stadium. The match was jointly organized by the Assam Football Association, Gauhati Town Club, Assam Olympic Association and Gauhati Sports Association.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also present at the ground during the match. In a brief speech Sarma said, "After the COVID break we need to return our regular routine quickly and it is the beginning."

In his speech Sarma also gave importance to improve the condition of flood light system at the Nehru Stadium so that sports activities can go under the flood light there.

Sports Minister Bimal Borah, MP Queen Oja, President of the Assam Football Association and MLA Naba Kumar Doley were also present at the Nehru stadium and watched the game.
