Senior Inter District Cricket Championship: Nuruddin: Bowlers rule on day I

GUWAHATI: Altogether 22 wickets fell on day I in the Nuruddin Senior Inter District Cricket Championship match between Goalpara and Guwahati that got under way at Goalpara today. Guwahati however managed to earn a 25 runs first innings lead. Invited to bat first at the DN Singha Stadium, Goalpara bowled out 89 runs in their first innings. Akash Sengupta was the lone batter who scored double digit runs in the innings. Guwahati also didn’t do well and Goalpara, rode on a nice spell from Dhruba Jyoti Das (5-24), needed just 21 overs to bowl out the visitors for 114. Goalpara were 8-2 in their second innings at stumps on day I.
