GUWAHATI: He got the offer last year too but didn't join because of prior official assignment. However Nabin Rabha, the Centre back, is ready to turn up for ISL outfit Northeast United FC (NEUFC) this season. In an interaction with The Sentinel the former member of Lajong FC and the employee of AG, Assam shared his plan for the coming season and his future goal. Here is he excerpt.

The Sentinel (TS): You will turn up for ISL outfit NEUFC this season.

Nabin: Yes. Actually I got offer during the middle part of the last season also but due to some prior official engagement I was not able to join the side. This time I accepted the offer and ready to turn up for them.

(TS): What's the reaction of your family members?

Nabin: All are very happy. I don't belong to a family which is financially very sound. We stay at Bonda, near Boko and sometimes I had to struggle to continue my football. But I always received good support from my family and they never told me to stay away from the game. Hope you have understood their feeling.

(TS): What is your plan for the coming season?

Nabin: I will try my best to play my natural game. ISL is a big league and coach has a lot of say in the team's strategy. I will try to fulfill the responsibility that will be entrusted to me by the coach.

(TS): Share your football journey...

Nabin: I started to play football at Kamrupa Football Coaching Centre at Boko under coach Ranjit Das and later shifted to SAI, Guwahati Centre. I represented state team for the first time in U-14 national (at Goa) and also selected for U-17 national team and played in AFC Cup and SAF Cup respectively. In the SAF Cup, held in Nepal, we finished at the second spot. Later I turned up for OILFC, Lajong FC and Fateh Hyderabad.

(TS): What is your future goal?

Nabin: I want to represent India in the senior category and I feel ISL can fulfill my dream. ISL is now the best league in India and all the top players of the country take part in it. If I can perform well here I believe it won't take too much time to get the call in the senior national team.
