Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika inaugurates Khel Maharan initiative in Lakhimpur

LAKHIMPUR: Water Resources Minister Pijush Hazarika, who visited Lakhimpur district on Friday, inaugurated the Khel Maharan initiative, organized under North Lakhimpur Municipal Board (NLMB). The sports events under the initiative, covering the sports talents of the civic body, has been held at North Lakhimpur Government HS School playground with two-day long programmes. In his inaugural lecture, Hazarika explained the benefits of the sports. He said that the Khel Maharan initiative had been undertaken to encourage and give exposure to the sports talents of the State and to take them to the international platforms. Lakhimpur MP Pradan Baruah, MLA Manab Deka, NLMB chairperson Nibenita Dutta, EO Casio Karan Pegu, ASP Laba Kumar Deka, DSO Sami Saikia were among those who attended the event.
