Wins for GPC, Media Management in TOPCEM-ASJA T20 Inter Media Cricket

GUWAHATI: Gauhati Press Club and Media Management registered wins in their respective matches in the TOPCEM-ASJA T20 Inter Media Cricket at the Judges' Field here today. GPS defeated hosts ASJA by 3 runs in a nail-biting match while Media Management outplayed Prasar Bharati by 66 runs.

In the first match, batting first GPS managed only 133 in allotted 20 overs losing 9 wickets with the help of opener Mriganka Sharma's 48-run knock. Dhiraj Hazarika added vital 23 runs. Amaresh Sinha claimed 4 wickets for 7 runs in his 4-over spell. Kaushik Bortamuly and Bhaskar took two wickets each. In reply ASJA scored 130 runs by losing 9 wickets in 20 overs. Opener Rajdeep Das scored 36 while Jyoti Prashad Buragohain made 26. Binnoy Kalita took 3 wickets fpr 30.

In the second match, Media Management scored a huge total of 197 in 20 overs losing one wicket. Jagjit Singh remained unbeaten at 97 from 66 balls with 14 fours while Amit Das made unbeaten 68 from 41 balls with 10 fours and one six.
