8-year-old climate activist Licypriya of Manipur designs safety face shields for doctors

MANIPUR: Licypriya Kangujam , 8-year-old climate activist from Manipur has designed “safety face shields” for doctors amid lockdown.

Earlier, she had refused to take part in Narendra Modi’s ‘SheInspiresUs’ campaign. Instead she wants the government to do something about climate change.

One of her tweet reads, “I am living for 3,040 days (Aged: 8 years 4 months 1 day) of living in this World till today. I have planted approx. 51,000 trees in total till date which is equivalent to planting 16 trees everyday since my birth for last 8+ years.”

She doesn’t like being called the “Greta of India”. She tweeted. “I am not doing my activism to looks like Greta Thunberg. Yes, she is one of our Inspiration & great influencer. We have common goal but I have my own identity, story. I began my movement since July 2018 even before Greta was started.”
