Guwahati: Assam Finance Minister and NEDA Convenor, Himanta Biswa Sarma congratulated Manipur BJP for their victory in the Manipur by-elections 2020. Calling it a 'spectacular victory,' Sarma said that Manipur reaffirmed its faith on our Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

BJP won four out of five seats in the by-elections.

Taking to Twitter, Sarma wrote: "Manipur reaffirms faith in PM Sri @narendramodi. Spectacular victory for @BJP4Manipuras we win 4 out of 5 seats at #bypolls. Congratulations to all victorious friends. Kudos to CM Sri @NBirenSingh whose leadership continues to inspire."

Chief Minister of Manipur N Biren Singh also tweeted calling it a big day for them. He wrote: "A huge day for @BJP4Manipur! We won 4 out of 5 seats -@BJP4Manipurcontested only in 4 ACs- in #Manipur Assembly Bypoll. Once again the people of Manipur show their trust in principles & ideology of @BJP4India & leadership of Hon'ble PM, Shri @narendramodi ji."

As per the Election Commission of India's portal, BJP has won three seats and is leading in one as counting was still on till the filling of this report.

BJP candidates were declared winners from the constituencies Wangoi, Singhat, and Wangjing Tentha. According to EC trends, BJP was leading in Saitu constituency too.
