DONGKAMUKAM: KAAC chief Dr Tuliram Ronghang on Tuesday said that BJP is a pro poor party. He was attending as a chief guest at a unity, victory and prosperity rally at Telehor playground in Jengkha under no:8 Hamren MAC constituency in West Karbi Anglong. “BJP cares for the poorer sections of the society. Several schemes for the upgrade of the poorer section has been launched like Orunodoi, Ayushman etc. BJP is providing free distribution of rice, books, free uniform etc.,” he said. He assured of launching many schemes for poor in future.
“In addition to the district’s development initiatives, our main demand is the establishment of an autonomous state under 244 (A). We should all remain united. To show our unity, strength and developmental activities we are now holding rally in every MAC constituencies. Educated unemployed youths should take up farming as profession and even one time financial assistance will be given to them those who apply,” he further said. Local MLA Rupsing Teron, Howraghat MLA Dhorsing Ronghang and Diphu MLA Bidhyasing Engleng also spoke at the programme. Earlier, a memorandum was also submitted addressing KAAC chief for all round development of the constituency.
Khorsing Terang, the first CEM of Mikir Hills was remembered by paying rich floral tributes. Completed schemes were also inaugurated. Tuliram also ceremoniously distributed spray machines to few of the BPL families of Hamren constituency. The programme was also attended by KAAC chairman Raju Tisso, all EMs, MACs and Board Chairman of KAAC and supporters.
