Children from remote area in Manipur call on DoNER Minister

New Delhi: A group of 20 students from remote villages of Manipur on Wednesday called on DoNER Minister Dr Jitendra Singh. The students are on a National Integration Tour being organised by 29 Assam Rifles.

“This is a unique opportunity for the children of remote bordering areas of India. He said that such tours give exposure to the students and give them confidence,” said DoNER Minister Dr Singh.

The Minister also expressed thanks to Assam Rifles for organising such tours and giving exposure to the children from remote areas. “This will provide children knowledge about the historical and cultural places of India,” he added.

The children from Dingpi region of Chandel district belong to the age group of 13-20 years and are accompanied by 2 teachers. The purpose of the visit is to give exposure to these students coming from the remote areas of North East.

The students have visited Delhi, Agra and Dholpur during their tour. They visited Rashtrapati Bhawan, Red Fort, Humayun Tomb, Qutub Minar, Lotus temple, India Gate, Nehru Planetarium, Museum, Metro, Taj Mahal and Rashtriya Military School, Dholpur, among other places.
