The Manipur government has come up with new norms for the school teachers employed in the state government schools. Although not finalized yet, but as stated by the Manipur Education minister Thokchom Radheshyam, the State Government is planning to initiate uniform for teachers of government schools. However, it can be seen that private school teachers are already following this norm and are wearing uniforms to their classes.
Not only the teachers engaged in the state government’s schools, in fact, but the transportation services and vehicles used in it are also ordered to be properly scrutinized by the government. The education minister said that vehicles engaged in transport services will also be scrutinized soon after a due discussion with the people concerned. There will be proper norms and regulations for them after the discussion.
The education minister announced these while visiting an inaugural ceremony of the New Academic Block of the N Gulap Memorial English School, Haraorou. Also speaking about the process of dealing with the school students who otherwise bear a lot of academic pressures, he said that it is the duty of the parents to drive them away from unwanted circumstances. He also asked them to be encouraging rather than being pressurizing on them. Every child has his own capabilities and must be allowed to grow his particular talent.
Radheshyam stressed that as today’s children are tomorrow’s future, they need to be guided well. Simply securing good mark in the exam is not the sign of a bright future. The parents should encourage their children to chase their dream and hone their talents rather than pressurizing them to be indulged in books and bring good marks in the exam. He even advised the teachers too to create a friendly environment in the class so that the students find it easy to learn things. He urged the schools to use the audio-visual teaching and learning method which will make learning more interesting.
