IMPHAL: In yet another notable achievement in their relentless campaign against smuggling operations, the Assam Rifles recently apprehended an alleged drug smuggler originating from Myanmar. This operation led to the confiscation of a substantial quantity of Heroin No 4, with an estimated worth of Rs 2.06 crore in the international market.
The incident unfolded in the vicinity of Tlangsam, near the Champhai district on the border of Mizoram and Myanmar, on November 3, 2023. The defense wing issued an official statement on Saturday, disclosing the successful apprehension of the suspected smuggler.

The entire consignment of Heroin No 4, valued at Rs. 2,06,69,600, along with the alleged perpetrator, will be handed over to the Excise and Narcotics Department in Champhai for further legal proceedings, as per the statement.
