Manipur CM Assures Govt Job to India's Woman Hockey Player Sushila Pukhrambam for Earning Laurels in Tokyo Olympics

In a bid to honour the achievements and laurels earned by sports persons of hailing from Manipur, the Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Sigh today assured the government would recognize and hardwork and dedication saying that Manipur's woman hockey player Sushila Pukhrambam who recently played at the Tokyo Olympics would be given a government job.

Notably, Sushila Pukhrambam who hails from Manipur is a member of the Indian women's hockey team that represented India at the Tokyo Olympics.

CM N Biren further informed that the star hockey player from the state would be appointed in the Sports department upon her return to Manipur and besides the government job, she would also receive an incentive of Rs 25 lakh.

The chief minister N Biren Singh speaking to Pukhrambam via video conference who now in Tokyo told her that the state of Manipur along with the rest of the country appreciated the inspiring performance of the Indian women's hockey team and that their sheer dedication and hardwork will take the Indian team to its zenith of glory.

On being asked what kind of job she wanted, Pukhrambam on a humble note said she would accept any job suitable to her.

The Chief Minister told her that most of the international players from Manipur, beginning from Mary Kom, were posted in the Police department.

CM Singh further stated that the government of Manipur would create some jobs in the Sports department for players like Pukhrambam who have earned laurels for the state representing in the Olympics, the highest sporting arena in the world.

On being asked whether she would stay in Manipur if she got a suitable job, Pukhrambam replied she would certainly stay in Manipur to train promising and talented girl hockey players so that one day the new generation takes over the reign of the sport in international platforms.
