Manipur CM N Biren Singh offered govt job to acquitted man in rape & murder case

IMPHAL: In a goodwill gesture, Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has promised a government job to a man who was recently acquitted in a rape and murder case. The victim had spent eight years in jail until he was proven innocent.

''He will be given a government job. I got to know that in spite of being innocent, he was jailed for eight years and his house was burnt down by a mob," said the CM. As per reports, he has promised to construct a house for him and provide a government job at the State's Forest department. (Agencies)
