IMPHAL: Manipur has declared dry days on November 10 when voters of the State by-polls held today, would be counted. November 7 was also a dry day.

The notice has been issued by B John Tlangtinkhuma, the commissioner of Excise, Government of Manipur under Section 135C of the 'Representation of Peoples Act-1951' and in the exercise of the power conferred under Section 17 (3) of the 'Eastern Bengal Assam Excise Act-1910' which is extended in Manipur.

The order further states that no fermented, spirituous or intoxicating substances shall be sold or given in a hotel, shop, tavern or any other place, within a polling area during the period of 48 hours, ending with the hour fixed for the conclusion of the poll for election in the polling areas. This includes all the liquor license holders including the exempted categories. (Agencies)
