IMPHAL: Manipur government has lifted the day curfew and imposed a night curfew from 6 pm to 5 am in the entire state for 15 days from August 8 to 22.
An order issued by Manipur Chief Secretary Dr. Rajesh Kumar, who is the chairman of the state executive committee of the state disaster management authority, informed the public that the night curfew will be implemented strictly across the state.
"Deputy Commissioners shall issue necessary orders and, Superintendents of Police shall take necessary action to implement the orders strictly," the order read.
The order also mentioned that the micro containment measures will be taken up and, those COVID-19 infected persons will be brought to the COVID care centers to avoid further spreading of the virus.
"Unavoidable customary and religious rituals can be performed in open sheds by restricting the number of invitees to 20 only," the order said. "Micro containment zones shall be strictly monitored by dedicated police department teams and health department teams", the order stated.
The order stated that the fresh cases of Covid 19 infections should be isolated as soon as possible and brought to Covid care centers and the health department should arrange mobile medical teams for a regular health check-up. It also asked the health department to scale up the vaccination drive, contact tracing, and testing by providing additional manpower, mobility support, and IEC (information education and communication) advocacy.
The state government had clamped the curfew from the 18th of last month as a preventive measure to contain the COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
