IMPHAL: A shop was set on fire in Chingmairong at midnight on June 25 by vandals just a few hours after Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh met with Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Delhi to discuss the state's current condition.

By 2 am, the fire had been put out with the quick response of police and firefighters. There were no reports of casualties or a mob gathering in the interim. Security personnel stationed in the state have been successful in maintaining law and order. Notably, since June 13, there have been no reported casualties, demonstrating substantial progress towards peace.

On June 25, Chief Minister N Biren Singh briefed the Union Home Minister on the situation on the ground and underlined how the State and Central Governments worked together to successfully end the violence during the previous week. The Chief Minister claimed that the Union Home Minister had given the assurance that the federal government would do all necessary to keep Manipur peaceful. Amit Shah has additionally enlisted the assistance of all Manipur stakeholders to maintain peace in the State.

Following an early-morning attack on a Kuki village in the Khamenlok region, which borders the districts of Imphal East and Kangpoki, where nine people were killed and ten more were injured in a gunbattle between the attackers and villagers, the security forces increased their efforts.
