Manipur stars issuing Inner Line Permit to arrivals ; 163 permits issued on first day

Imphal: Manipur which has stared implementing Inner Line Permit (ILP) to those coming into the state has issued 163 permits on the first day. 330 advance application forms were received.

ILP will be applicable in the entire state. Those who are not indigenous people of the state or permanent residents of the state will have to apply for ILP which will be issued for 15 days.

The Sixth Schedule areas and the States with ILP (Inner Line Permit) will be excluded from the ambit of CAA.

The Sixth Schedule deals with the administration of tribal areas in the north-eastern States of Assam, Meghalaya, Tripura and Mizoram having 10 autonomous district councils. ILP is applicable in Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Manipur and some places of Sikkim.
